Ugly Duckling (1939)
10/10

Directed by: Jack Cutting
Based on the story by: Hans Christian Anderson
Produced by: Walt Disney
Fifty years before
The Little Mermaid, Disney made another Hans Cristian Anderson fairy tale come to animated life with charming results. This short film is probably the best of Walt Disney's Silly Symphonies cartoons, and being the last one as well, it's a brilliant farewell. Anyone who was young remembers the story of
The Ugly Duckling. In a family of ducks, a bunch of babies were born. All of them looked and sounded like their mother, except for one. That one was different. He had a big beak and he honked. After being sunned away from the family, the ugly duckling then goes on a journey to find his real mother. This is such a beautiful short film that won Disney yet another deserved Oscar.

Along with a veteran police officer, a timid accountant, and a Spanish rookie, he forms a team called 'The Untouchables", because nobody can try to bribe them. Each week, they get close to Capone arrested each of his men one at a time, and trying to figure out his scheme.
